Orhun Habib Erdogan
I’m Orhun. Mechatronics engineer from Eindhoven. I’m happiest where the code stops being code and something actually moves.
Dutch and Turkish, both native, which mostly means I can complain in two languages. I spent the last year on customer sites in the UK and India getting parcel sorters to behave. Before that: robot software, motor drivers written from register maps, a lot of ROS2.
Right now I’m between things, on purpose. The job ended in September and I’m not rushing into the next one. I want to work for myself, on stuff that’s actually interesting. Got a machine that doesn’t do what it should? Tell me about it.
The rest of the time I’m on a board. Skateboard most days, snowboard when there’s snow, surfboard when there’s a wave. Falling off all three, regularly.

Scroll to put each one together. Every build starts as an exploded drawing, gets assembled part by part, measured, and then scanned into the real thing. Move the cursor to turn the drawing, hover the photo to see through it.Drag the drawing to turn it, press and hold the photo to see through it.

Fully 3D printed, with a faceplate that lifts itself. About 50 hours of printing.

Designed from scratch in SolidWorks and Blender, printed, painted and weathered by hand.

Designed, built and programmed a CoreXY printer from zero, with a team of four.
Skateboard most days. Snowboard when there’s snow. Surf when there’s a wave and I’m near it. Plus a habit of booking trips that involve getting up at 3 a.m. to climb something.
Board 01 — skate. Most days, somewhere in Eindhoven. Here: the flat rail at the Trocadéro in Paris, Eiffel Tower in the background.

T-01
Rinjani, Lombok · 8.41°S 116.46°E
Climbed most of the night for one sunrise. Then I went in the water with a whale shark, which is less relaxing than it sounds.

T-02
Fuji, Osaka & around · 35.36°N 138.73°E
Slept on Fuji, got up before five, watched the mountain throw a triangle shadow across the clouds. Then Osaka at night, which is the opposite of that.

T-03
Sahara, Todra, Taghazout · 31.14°N 4.01°W
Desert one day, gorge the next, then a concrete bowl on the coast full of kids who skate better than me.

T-04
Santiago & Fogo · 14.95°N 24.34°W
First trip after the job ended. Scooter across Santiago, up an active volcano on Fogo, black sand at the bottom.

T-05
Agra & Jaipur · 26.94°N 75.81°E
Went for work, used every weekend. Agra in the fog, Jaipur from a fort wall at sunset.

T-06
Istanbul · 41.05°N 29.03°E
The other half of home. Istanbul from the water at sunset still beats most things.
